Despite this investment, employers continue to face difficulties in selecting solutions that produce measurable positive effects, both in employee wellness and in organizational cost savings.

We all agree that health technology solutions can help many people when employers and payers purchase them for their users.  Despite the back-end strategies, glossy apps, and researched expectations, we know that most health technology companies are unsuccessful when networking the employer and payer ecosystem. Differences in cultures and an inundation of solutions do exist however these are only part of the problem.  Payers and employers are both trying to find effective ways to get good solutions in front of their users and experience positive impacts to healthcare costs.

Although a broader health system should bring more access to our diversity and uniqueness, we are finding that it is actually the opposite. Potential participants based on gender, race, disability, etc. are often not accounted for in corporate health strategy.  Recent corporate surveys indicate that the need to hire and maintain talent while building thriving businesses are primary reasons to adopt diverse policies throughout organizations.  Further surveys indicate that all parts of organizations are expected to participate in realizing this goal including the strategy and design of an organization’s health strategy.
